THE HOT SPOT CAFE

Serving Cult & Culture Since '95

Legendary desserts, hand-churned gelato and nostalgic comfort food — served under a wall of cult movie posters that's been our soul since 1995.

Our Story

Cult & Culture, Hand-Cranked Joy Since 1995

It started in August 1995 in Islamabad — three dreamers, a hand-cranked machine, and a wall full of movie posters. We became Pakistan's first frozen yogurt bar, and somewhere along the way produced an award-winning horror film.

Three decades later, the posters still cover every wall and ceiling, the gelato is still hand-churned, and the vibe is exactly true to our passion of Horror, B-Movies & Cult Classics.

Beyond The Café

The Oak Tree -- Dog Shelter & Boarding Home and Olive Orchard Farm

The most rewarding part of The Hot Spot's journey has been providing a home for orphaned, stray and rescued dogs - and building something from nothing that, in turn, helps struggling families build their lives. It's a road to satisfaction unlike any other. Equally gratifying has been our ability to support and promote street arti, filim billboard painters, and local cinema. From writing books to hosting poster exhibitions worldwide - and even producing a horror movie that played at over 50 International Film Festivals - its been a joyfully fulfilling ride. But perhaps the greatest pleasure of all is reconnecting with customers from years past - those we knew during their college days, now returning with their kids, who also have memories tied to The Hot Spot. These bonds are deeply precious. We never set out to be just a brand. We hoped to be a community hub - a place for friendships and bridges across generations and backgrounds. From a house on Street 60 in F 6/3, to our Gelato Pop-up at the Islamabad Farmers Market, and on to Lahore and Karachi - every encounter and piece of feedback has shaped this 30+-year journey. To all of you who've stayed with us, supported us, and challenged us with honesty and kindness: Thank You, from the bottom of our hearts. Even in this day and age of social Media and influencers, we've stayed true to our ehtos: our only advertisement is the product we serve and the environment we create. We've never run a single ad or hired an influencer - we simply believe that a happy customer is the best kind of publicity!
